US Model 1855 Musket Mainspring Vice: These were used to compress the mainspring of a musket in order to disassemble the lock mechanism. Rarely found, as they were only issued to Sergeants who were in charge of keeping the weapons in good repair. This one is in very good dug condition, as good as you’ll see dug, found in Richmond, VA. Cleaned and coated to prevent further rust.
